Who knew???

While at WalMart last week I bought popsicle makers for like 2 bucks. So yesterday I filled them up with coke and froze them and the kids are loving it! My son eats pop-ice like there's no tomorrow, so I thought why not try to make homemade popsicles. Anyone out there have any recipes on popsicle's they would like to share? All I can think of are lemonade, juice and coke popsicle's.

I was also eyeing a counter top ice cream maker. I've never worked with one of those but it looks fairly simple. I have a chocolate hazelnut gelato recipe that I'm itchin' to try!

Busy as a little bee

For the past couple of years I have expressed on how badly I wanted a new patio set. The patio set that we own are going on 10 years old. The table is a glass top table with cream colored trim. The chairs...man these poor ugly chairs. They were at one time a very dark green and they matched a table that we had a long time ago, but sadly the table didn't make it, hence that is why we have a different table. And no matter how hard I clean up these mixed matched items year after year, they are still freakin' ugly. So a couple of weeks ago, Sam and I went out and sort of looked at a new patio set and holy shit at the prices! That's when I decided that I was going to paint what we have now, I mean they can't get any uglier that's for damn sure. One week later....Sam and I put the table back together and WOW! Not only does the chairs now match the table...but they look awesome! YES...I am patting myself on the back and it only cost $25. Now Sam is having to hide the left over paint cause now I'm painting everything that even remotely looks faded. My next project.....the garage doors! Stay tuned.....

Look at little brother

He got mad cause sissy was riding all by herself and now I can't get him to come inside! I guess today was the day to break from training wheels. Soon after these pictures, our next door neighbor's son got on his bike and he too is now going all over the hood!

She's actually riding!

After hearing "I can't do it!" over and over again and many tears later....guess who's riding her bike now with no training wheels!

You go girl. Mom and Dad are proud of you!

Yummo!

For dinner tonight I made Sam roasted shrimp with olive oil, salt and pepper. Risotto with white wine, garlic and parmesan cheese and freshly baked bread. He was a very happy camper. I watch the food network during the day and I saw where Ina Garten from Barefood Contessa had roasted shrimp in the oven. So I tried it and holy moley it is absolutely awesome. Who knew that roasting shrimp could be so easy and so delicious.

Aaawww...they match

Sam took this picture on I-44. Now really, does the Yugo really need to match? Or sadly, did they match the RV to go with the Yugo?? Hmmmmm.....

I think my husband has a drinking problem..

Sam is out of town working all week at another pharmacy that's about and hour and a half away. And in this town, Joplin MO, they sell Pibb in twelve packs. Where we live, Springfield/Ozark, the coke company does not sell Pibb. So while Sam is in Joplin he stated that he wanted to get some Pibb's to have on hand here at the house. I thought, sure no problem to get 4 or 5 twelve packs. But this is his idea of "stocking up"....

Now that's a true die hard Pibb man!

If Santa Claus only knew

My daughter who is the oldest of my two kids, is 9 years old. And as of this past Christmas, still believes in Santa Claus (wow..I know huh??). She told me that for Easter, she wants a cell phone. My first thought was "oh hell no, she didn't just go there", so I asked my bright child as to why she thought she needed as cell phone. And to my surprise she blurted that a couple of girls in her class have one. Please tell me that I'm not the only parent out there that thinks giving a 9 year old a cell phone is BEYOND retarded. Why are some parents so hell bound on making their children grow up so fast? Why can't kids be kids? My god she just now got the confidence to take the training wheels off of her bike. When I was 9 years old, all I wanted was a 10 speed bike and roller skates with the big pom poms that tied on the top.

Needless to say that my husband and I agreed that we think the Easter bunny is going to bring our children IPod shuffles with preloaded music on them from our kids Kids Bop collection. If Santa only knew.....

Could it be so????

Yes, I'm back. It's been along time and I've decided that it was time I get back to my blogging. I quit back in October because I had some personal issues that needed my attention, and that issue was my marriage. For a couple of years, I was unhappy with my marriage but I failed to communicate that with my husband Sam. And instead of stepping up and confront and communicate with Sam, I made friendships with other men to surrogate me with feelings that I was lacking in my marriage. And as always what happens in this situation, I got caught. Since then, we've been to counseling and working on getting our marriage back on track. I've learned alot in counseling about myself and realize that the choices that I've made in the past were absolutely wrong. Sam and I are still working on making this marriage work. We have two adorable children that are worth the work. We still have days that we just want to pull our hair out, but marriage is WORK!

Thank you all for following me in the past. I'm looking forward to a brighter and open future with you all and my husband! Here's a picture of my adorable family.
